ARCH-ed Educating to Excellence

We are delighted to announce the launch of ARCH-ed - Educating to Excellence in Horseback Archery (ARCH-ed Excellence), a new Erasmus+ Sport project that builds on the achievements of the previous ARCH-ed initiatives and continues our mission of strengthening the European horseback archery community.
Running from January 2025 to June 2026, the project brings together partners from Slovakia, Poland and Finland to improve the quality of education, coaching, horse welfare, and sport management within horseback archery clubs across Europe.
ARCH-ed Excellence focuses on two key areas identified by the horseback archery community as essential for the sustainable development of the sport. The first is horse welfare and animal care, including topics such as saddle fitting, horse relaxation, pain recognition, and other aspects that contribute to the health and wellbeing of horseback archery horses. The second is sport management, providing clubs and coaches with practical knowledge on event management, sponsorship, fundraising, marketing, and promotion.
Throughout the project, partners work together to develop educational resources, share expertise, and exchange best practices through international workshops and training activities. The project also strengthens cooperation between sport organisations and academia through the involvement of the Faculty of Management Science and Informatics at the University of Žilina.
One of the main outcomes of the project is the expansion of the HOW2 Toolbox, the online educational platform created through previous ARCH-ed projects. New learning materials and video resources are now available, offering practical guidance for coaches, club managers, horse owners, and horseback archery practitioners.
By combining international cooperation, expert knowledge, and practical experience, ARCH-ed Excellence contributes to the professionalisation of horseback archery and supports the long-term development of the sport across Europe.
Stay tuned for project updates, educational resources, and opportunities to learn from experts and practitioners throughout the project.
