Slovenska Asociacia Jazdeckej Lukostrelby (SAJL)
The Slovak Horseback Archery Association (SAJL) is the national organisation dedicated to the development and promotion of horseback archery in Slovakia. As an associate member of the International Horseback Archery Alliance (IHAA), SAJL works to build a strong and inclusive horseback archery community, supporting both grassroots participation and competitive sport at national and international levels.
What do we do
Founded and led by Filip Dikant, SAJL brings together horseback archery enthusiasts from across Slovakia and actively promotes training opportunities, competitions, and educational activities. The association represents Slovak horseback archers at international events and works closely with European partners to introduce best practices in coaching, horse welfare, and sport development. Through its activities, SAJL aims to create opportunities for athletes of all levels while promoting high standards of sportsmanship and animal care.
Our experience
SAJL has been actively involved in the ARCH-ed initiative and previously participated in the Erasmus+ project ARCH-ed: Educating to Promote. Through international cooperation and engagement with the European horseback archery community, the association has gained valuable experience in project implementation, coach education, and the promotion of horseback archery as a modern and accessible sport.
Building on these experiences, SAJL continues to strengthen its organisational capacity and expand opportunities for horseback archery practitioners in Slovakia.
Contribution to ARCH-ed Excellence
In ARCH-ed Excellence, SAJL takes on the role of project coordinator, leading the partnership and overseeing the implementation of all project activities. The association is responsible for project management, coordination among partners, quality assurance, and the successful delivery of project results.
By drawing on its growing network and experience within the European horseback archery community, SAJL helps ensure that the project contributes to the professional development of coaches, sport organisations, and horseback archery practitioners across Europe.
