European Week of Sport Initiative

ARCH-ed European Week of Sports Events

The European Week of Sport is a major EU initiative, with over 16 million Europeans participating in #BeActive activities in 42 partner countries and regions. By organizing our open HBA clinics across various partner countries during this impactful week, we aim to increase the visibility of horseback archery and attract a wide audience.

As part of the ARCH-ed project, our partners hosted Open Horseback Archery Clinics, open to all current HBA enthusiasts and those interested in joining this dynamic sport. The focus was on encouraging everyone to #BeActive through a series of events and training sessions.

At Kawalkada, the Junior Horseback Archery Championships took place, marking the culmination of summer archery training under the #klub2023 program. Young archers competed in both horseback and ground archery, showcasing their skills and progress. Alongside the competition, we held open archery workshops led by trainers who recently returned from the ARCH-ed project in Slovakia. These workshops provided a valuable opportunity for participants to engage in archery, with a strong focus on promoting physical activity and healthy living. To see more photos please CLICK HERE

At "Pferd und Bogen" Club in Germany, Hannah Erndl led a horseback archery training session. Fresh from her participation in the ARCH-ed meeting in Slovakia, she applied new teaching techniques to guide both beginners and experienced archers through the session. This was part of a broader effort to engage a diverse audience in the sport of horseback archery and to demonstrate the practical knowledge gained through the ARCH-ed project. The Slovak Horse Archers also hosted a special training session, allowing participants to refine their horseback archery skills while promoting physical activity and the #BeActive initiative. To see more photos please CLICK HERE

These events were a great success, increasing the visibility of horseback archery and supporting the European Week of Sport’s #BeActive initiative.
