ARCH-ed TPM2 - Rakownia, Poland

ARCH-ed Second Transnational Project Meeting - Rakownia, PolandOn the 19th of June, we started our second ARCH-ed project meeting. This time our partners from Germany, Slovakia, and Italy have come to Kawalkada Horseback Archery to Rakownia, Poland to practice and learn new teaching techniques. It was a 3-day workshop of theory and practice in horseback archery.

On the first day we discussed issues related to fair play rules, how to manage stress, and what techniques do we use personally to release the stress before the competitions or some other important event in our life. We have also discussed how good cooperation between the coach and the student should look like and what rules to follow.

In the afternoon we started our horseback archery workshops in practice. The horseback archery workshops were led by Norbert Kopczyński. He was the first in Poland to practice horseback archery. Norbert is the only horseback archer in the world who won the title of World Champion twice in 2009 and 2013 in Sokcho, Korea - the cradle of Korean Horseback Archery.

He was also the face of the 10th Jubilee World Championships held in Seoul. He enjoys great authority in the world, especially in Korea, Jordan (a trip at the invitation of the king), Turkey, Australia, Japan, USA, England, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Malaysia, Iran, China, and Mongolia.

On the first day, we practiced HBA on the ground. On the second day, we have practiced archery on horses and on the ground. We had beautiful weather, but the temperature was a little bit too hot (30 degrees) so we decided to take a short break and go to swim in the lake and then continue the workshops. Last day welcomed us with a storm in the morning but it did not scare us away. We have practiced more horseback archery and we have recorded short interviews with our participants.
