TPM3 - Kolárovo, Slovakia

ARCH-ed Third Transnational Project Meeting - Kolarovo, Slovakia

In October (10-13.10.2025), ARCHed partners gathered in Kolárovo, Slovakia, for the third Transnational Project Meeting, hosted by Slovak Horse Archers (SAJL) at the Vermes Horse Archery School.

The meeting brought together partners from Slovakia, Finland, Poland, the Czech Republic, and the University of Žilina for three days of learning, cultural exchange, and practical workshops focused on traditional horsemanship and horseback archery.

Participants took part in a hands-on workshop on bare hoof trimming and hoof care led by Balázs Vermes, gaining valuable insights into maintaining the health and wellbeing of working horses. The programme also included a presentation of the Modular Sport HBA Quivers by Lukáš Čechovič, followed by an impressive historical equestrian archery demonstration showcasing traditional riding and archery techniques.

One of the highlights of the meeting was the historical equestrian combat workshop, where participants had the opportunity to practise with sabres, lances, and traditional Mongolian throwing knives. The final day concluded with an unforgettable horseback fencing session, combining balance, trust, precision, and horsemanship.

Beyond the workshops, participants enjoyed local culture, traditional food, and informal networking opportunities that further strengthened cooperation within the partnership.

TPM #3 once again demonstrated the value of international collaboration in preserving equestrian heritage, promoting horse welfare, and supporting the continued development of horseback archery across Europe.
